THE NEW YORK STATE ANTI-TRAFFICKING COALITION
ABOUT US
The New York State Anti-Trafficking Coalition (NYSATC) is a network of scores of New York State organizations and individuals that came together in 2004 to increase public awareness of human trafficking in our communities, enact groundbreaking anti-trafficking laws, improve law enforcement response to human trafficking, and expand social services to assist and empower victims and survivors of human trafficking and related forms of commercial sexual exploitation.
Since its inception, the NYSATC has helped spearhead the grassroots effort behind multiple progressive anti-trafficking laws in New York State, including the New York Anti-Trafficking Law, 2007, the Safe Harbor for Exploited Youth Act (2008 and 2013), the Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act (2015), the End Child Sex Trafficking Act (2018), The Start Act and the Repeal of the Loitering Statute (2021). We are proud that New York State’s anti-trafficking laws are widely considered to be some of the strongest and most survivor-centered in the country but recognize the need for ongoing changes in law and practice to advance and protect the rights of victims and survivors, prevent all forms of sexual exploitation, and deter and hold accountable perpetrators.
