You can report trafficking crimes or get help by calling the Trafficking in Persons and Worker Exploitation Task Force Complaint Line at 1-888-428-7581 (voice and TTY). New laws provide options for trafficking victims regardless of immigration status. Operators have access to interpreters and can talk with callers in their own language. The service is offered on weekdays from 9AM to 5PM EST. After these hours, information is available on tape in English, Spanish, Russian, and Mandarin.
The Kings County District Attorney's Office monitors a 24-hour hotline for victims and those with knowledge of sex trafficking. The number is 718-250-2770. Additionally, the office offers comprehensive services to victims through the District Attorney's Counseling Services Unit. These services are available weekdays from 9AM to 5PM. The EMPOWER Center provides a variety of free healthcare and social services to support people in the sex trade as well as people who have experienced any form of sexual violence. The sex trade includes, but is not limited to: prostitution (street-based, brothel, internet, gang, and family-facilitated), sex trafficking, stripping, sexual massages, pornography, and escort service.
